Our Story
Susan Rice Truffle Products was started by risk-taking entrepreneur Susan Rice, who created the world's first truffled popcorn.Truffles have a rich, exotic taste. Truffles turn any dish into a feast, any meal into gourmet.

Her story began with a pure and simple love of truffles. Especially enjoying incorporating Black Perigord Truffle into her cooking (it is one of two species that dominate the cooking world today), Susan often asked for a few pounds each Christmas for cooking and to share with her guests. When she decided to buy several parcels of land in the Pinehurst area of North Carolina, fifty miles southwest of Raleigh, it didn't take long to latch onto the idea of farming truffles herself.
A truffle orchard is somewhat like a grape orchard in that it takes several years before you get your first harvest. While waiting on the orchard's maturation, Susan has started blending truffles with popcorn, mayonnaise, salt and pepper, and olive oils so that Americans could enjoy this high-priced delicacy in affordable foods they love.
Susan is creating the next “Napa Valley”of truffles in the Sandhills of North Carolina and wants you to enjoy the magical, mystical world of truffles available in her entire line of products.
